That One Wish

King Solomon chose wisdom. If you had been granted the gift of one wish come true, what would you wish for? For starters, the number one thing a human beings instinct is to wish for money, power, wealth etc. But NO! That is not the right thing to wish, keep in mind that you also cannot wish for more wishes, the right wish is for wisdom, and the rest will come. If you wish for wisdom, choices will be easier to make. Most people think that wisdom is being intelligent or smart. They are wrong. Absolutely wrong. If you have wisdom you have courage. Wisdom is strength, and wisdom is key. Thank you. At least now you that if you are gifted with a wish of tough choice, always remember...Choose WISDOM! Check out one of my most popular posts!

How To Make Your Breakfast Worth It

Image
Not everyone wakes up to breakfast. But you do, so take a moment, just one moment out of your 24 hours, to thank the Lord for the food he blessed you with. And it's not just food, it's clothes, a shelter and every other thing you have. As you might have thought, this post isn't really about breakfast, it's about being grateful.

How Does my Behavior Affect Others

Your attitude/behavior can positively or negatively affect a person, their behavior, their actions, their attitudes and even their perceptions. A leader or team member who has positive attitudes toward other co-workers can positively influence those around them. Your smile can be a huge variable in someone's day. What Is Behavior And Its Examples Behavior is an action that is observable and measurable. Behavior is observable. It is what we see or hear, such as a student sitting down, standing up, speaking, whispering, yelling and writing. For example, a student may show anger by making a face, crossing his arms, yelling, and turning away from the teacher. (All behaviors listed are unacceptable anywhere).  How Your Words Affect Others Words influence others and build relationships. They can also tear down relationships. Simply put, language holds massive, colossal power to manifest change, whether it's good or bad. How Does My Attitude Affect My Behavior Attitudes can positivel

Vox Populi Vox Dei

A sọrọ nitori a jẹ iran ti o ṣe iyẹn. I am not a fluent Yoruba speaker, but I know a few words. If you also don't speak fluent Yoruba, you're probably wondering what that text above means. It means 'We talk because we are a generation that does that'.  What I mean by "We talk" is the protests. I mean, imagine if it wasn't this generation that this was happening to, other generations might have cowered in fear and let SARS and Covid 19 to destroy and take away everything important to them. (Not like Nigerians ever cower). The reason we talk is because something is wrong and we don't like it, so we say something. We say something. Don't feel guilty, that you are not out there protesting with our other Nigerians. You are also protesting, just not physically, you could be praying, donating and some of the other things we are doing. I don't protest physically either, technically because I'm too young to go out alone much more to protest. I prot

Protest @Lekki

A number of people have reportedly been shot dead or wounded at a protest against police brutality in Nigeria's biggest city, Lagos. Witnesses and the rights group Amnesty International said several people were killed and wounded when soldiers opened fire. The state governor said about 25 people had been wounded but denied there were any fatalities. An indefinite 24-hour curfew has been imposed on Lagos and other regions. Protests over a now-disbanded police unit - the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (Sars) - have been taking place for two weeks, with demonstrators using the social media hashtag #EndSars to rally crowds. As tensions continued to rise on Wednesday, police in different districts of Lagos fired shots in the air to disperse protesters defying the curfew, the BBC's Nduka Orjinmo reports from the capital, Abuja. Protesters who briefly gathered again at the Lekki toll gate - where Tuesday's shootings took place - were forced out by police, he adds. President Muhammadu

NoChildDeserves

Child abuse is when a parent or caregiver, whether through action or failing to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm or risk of serious harm to a child. There many forms of child maltreatment, including neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation and emotional abuse. No child deserves such treatment, not even if that child is naughty, rude, disobedient or misbehaved. Nothing a child does can should make a person harm them. We might need a little punishment but nothing so wicked.  Below are a few  NoMoreChildAbuse quotes. “Childhood should be carefree, playing in the sun; not living a nightmare in the darkness of the soul.” ―  Dave Pelzer  “Abuse manipulates and twists a child’s natural sense of trust and love. Her innocent feelings are belittled or mocked and she learns to ignore her feelings."  ―  Laura Davis "Abusing a child can't be undone So why  even  do it to one No child deserves these heartless actions Of a man or woman who needs distractions Love and

#ENDPOLICEBrutality

Today, I don't have much to say, but the fact that in this video Nigerians came together for what is right, this is very inspiring. SARS can't stop us from reaching our goal.  Nothing can stop an idea when the time is right. Thank you! #ThisGeneration

#ENDSARS!

Widespread protests over Nigeria's hated Special Anti-Robbery Squad (Sars) are a sign that the country's massive young population is finding its voice and demanding reforms in Africa's most populous country, which has been characterised by poor governance since its independence 60 years ago. Despite forcing the president to disband the unit, they are not satisfied as they want total police reforms and for officers in the rogue department to face justice. But it goes beyond this because the wave of protests has given a platform to a section of the country's young population who are deeply dissatisfied. On the streets, those marching are mostly comfortably-off young people, some with dyed hair, pierced noses and tattooed bodies. It is the sort of gathering that security personnel are quick to label criminals, but in truth, these are largely hard-working young people who have mostly had to fend for themselves without support from the state. Tise Talks: The Girl Child 2020

Today is the International Day of The Girl Child. It was coined this way to fight for equality between the two genders. The female child is a special child. She births, nurtures, tends, supports, encourages and cultivates.           The benefits of having a girl child are quite amazing, that is why educating the girl child should be every parent's duty. An educated girl will become an educated woman, and an educated woman will become an educated mother. An educated mother educates the world. On the other hand, an uneducated mother therefore is not empowered to educate her child and the world at large.

Opportunity and the Doors of Life

Image
Sister Act 2 is a movie with a major life lesson. OPPORTUNITY! Everyone needs to know that word. The key phrase in that movie was "If wanna be somebody, if you wanna go somewhere, then you better wake up and pay attention". For playful children, it's just hard to pay attention sometimes because they're always playing and always want to. Another thing I noticed in that movie was the setting of the church. It wasn't exactly the land of opportunity. But the opportunity that was actually out there was the one the actor character did not see. I'm trying to say that you should always look for the open doors in life, or sooner or later, every single door will be closed. Not all chances come twice.

Talk About Trash

Image
Where I live, it's not surprising to see trash on the streets. The world can't really save itself 'cos of our litter. When you use a tissue, dispose of it properly, not on the streets, not in the drainage, but in a BIN. I mean it's not so hard to do. Or is it? Who wants to change the world? You have to make a series of little differences to make a big one. Remember the three Rs- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. When you think of throwing a piece of tissue out the window of your car next time, think of the damage you are causing to the earth. Imagine yourself in Miss Earth's place and how much pain you're feeling being littered by the people who you have have given a home for many years. Doesn't sound great does it? So, HELP THE EARTH!!! #savearth#savelives By T. Osimokun

#At Home With Me

COVID 19 TIPS Do not go outside your house unless it is absolutely urgent, like a fire started. Try not to touch your face at all. Wear a face mask whenever leaving the house. Wash hands regularly. Children Safety Tips (For parents) Dear parents, it is not safe to allow a child to go out on their own. Children are being kidnapped, abused, enslaved, trafficked and raped. Anything can happen, so here are a few tips: Don't let your kids go out alone. Have a curfew for teens. Don't allow them to talk to strangers. If you are at work and need someone to pick your kid up from school, anyone can say "Your mum sent me to get you, c'mon let's go." So have a code, give the code to the person you asked to pick up your child, tell your child the code and that if anyone wants to take them somewhere they should ask for the code. Internet Safety (Kids and Parents) Parents: You wake up in the morning just to find your child doodling something again on his laptop. You are abou

Help the World

Hey and welcome to my blog, I assume we all know what's happening right now and are trying our best to keep safe & healthy. My point is that most people where I live don't believe in COVID-19 and criticize everyone staying at home to shield themselves from the very new and well known but poorly understood disease. Really, I'm trying to say that if you don't already believe please start to do so and put yourself on lock down mode. And thank you everyone one out there who is having trouble staying at home. Everything passes, and so will this. 👍👍👍Good luck #peace#willpass #2020 By T. Osimokun
